Hi Wildhorses,
I saw your pet peeve post, and so I didn't want to leave you hanging. . .How are you doing tonight?

for those of you that grew up in the "truth" what did you get to play with/watch on tv?
i keep reading about what you couldn't have or watch so what did you do?
enquiring non jw minds want to know!.
Some of the shows that I remember watching as a kid were:
On the rare occasion that we got to miss a meeting, we watched that Tuesday night line up of Happy Days, Laverne and Shirley, and Mork and Mindy.

i gave my intro and then disappeared for a month.
just not enough time these days.. anyway .
.. some of your names are self-explanatory, but some definitely have to be explained to be understood.. i'll start.
Mine just describes the way I left the organization . . . very carefully. All of my family are still in, so I try to be careful to not get DF'd.

i loved the recent topic asking what each of our screen names means.
great question as i have always wondered about quite a few of our screen names.
as i was reading the responses, i looked at holey cheeses - king of the juice's avitar and thought about how i have been wondering for the past three years, what the hell that is a picture of.
Thanks everyone. This has been interesting. Please keep em coming!
Stephanie, I think you may be right . . . but I'd still like to get a closer look at that picture . Holey Cheeses, where are you?
Vallis!
Chevy, are you serious? Xander, I think she's kidding too . . . only because her avitar looks like a total match to the pictures Sassy has posted of her.
Blondie, nope, you don't need to explain yours! I think you look pretty great too.
Brian, what a sad story! If I may ask, when did you find out you had been kidnapped?

this kinda thread has probably been done before... someone phones me at work and when i say hello they say "hold on" and start talking to someone else, they dont tell me who they are and i'm hanging on hearing them chat to someone who is with them on the other end, 5 mins later they introduce themselves and tell me what they want.
that is a pet peeve.. another, for example, go to the fridge and both tubs of butter are open and both blocks of cheese instead of finishing one off and then opening the other.
thats just a small pet peeve but its one none the less.. miserable sod arnt i though?.
When you've been waiting in a long line to purchase something, and the sales associates stop assisting the customers standing in line to assist someone on the telephone. In my opinion, the caller should have to wait and first dibs should be given to the customers who took the time to come to the store, wait in line and actually purchase the goods.
People who call a meeting, and then show up 5 to 10 minutes late.
People who schedule meetings, right over your existing appointments - completely evident on the online calendaring system.
People who just walk through the doorway while you are holding the door open for them . . . with no "thanks", no smile, no nod, nothing. I've responded many times with a very sarcastic, "Oh, no need to thank me . . . I'm actually paid to stand here and hold the door open for you". I've received some strange looks after saying that - but it just irritates me so much!
People who chew food with their mouth open.
People who pick their nose, burp or fart in public.
People who don't cover their face when they sneeze in public.

So, if you have an avitar that isn't quite self evident, can you tell us about it? And Holey Cheeses - King of the Juice, can you please post a larger photo of your avitar and help me understand what it is? I'm curious.
Thanks!

my beautiful jennie .
Nina, your kids are SO cute - both the two and the four legged ones! You must be proud. Thanks for sharing the photos.
Moose and Lady Bug, they are basset hounds, not beagles, right?

okay... i may act like a hick from a small-town... but... i'm curious about something.. what is the 'proper' amount that one is supposed to 'tip' the gal at the salon.
the one whut cuts the hair.. i've never really had a good idea... and i know that i look like a dufus... fumbling and mumbling... as i hand a dollar or two to the gal.. now... if i'm supposed to be giving something like $5.00... forget it!
i usually hand over 1 or 2 dollars - depending on how well i feel that they did.
Jim, Mulan is correct. The industry standard amount to tip your stylist is at least 20% (fyi. . . your tip was a little over 12%) .
You're lucky your haircut only cost $16. Try $125 for a cut and color . . . every 5 weeks!

not sure if you remember but last year my golden retriever nick was stolen.....i still look for him and miss him gobs..
well, last night thunder let moxie our cairn terrier out and she was gone she has never run off.
i looked all over for her called and called drove around (midnight mind you....driving around screaming for a dog sigh
Sheila, what a terrible scare! I'm so glad everything turned out ok with Moxie - so sorry about Nick. How long has Nick been gone? You know, I've heard of quite a few cases where dogs show up years later . . . don't give up hope!
